I got involved with the Place of Refuge in August of 2007 after I was appointed as the Provincial Program Director for MCC BC. I represent MCC BC as one of the partners on the Board of Place of Refuge

MCC BC’s mandate is to walk alongside those who have become marginalized in society. The people who will be served by the Place of Refuge deserve to be loved unconditionally as per the example of Jesus Christ. I have not specifically done this kind of ministry before, but a big part of my 28 year professional career includes walking with those who are marginalised in society.

My family and I are members of MB Central Community Church in Chilliwack since 2001. In the past I volunteered with my wife Anita as a youth small group facilitator, an usher, holy communion coordinator and set builders for an annual Christmas production.

As part of my work at MCC BC I am involved in a number of projects and community based committees and working groups that focus on the alleviation of homelessness and the provisioning of affordable housing in the Upper Fraser Valley.
